At Brisbane Art Classes, we believe in teaching artists to think critically and creatively for themselves. Our goal is to help every artist learn the techniques they need to continuously improve and develop their own unique style. We encourage artists of all levels to join our sessions, no matter your perceived skills, abilities or technical knowledge. 

We are proud to offer our online atelier and fine art classes in Brisbane that allow students from any location and all skill levels to join our sessions.

Background

Brisbane Art Classes is  owned and operated by Mark Feiler. Feiler is an Australian artist and educator from Mackay, Queensland - he currently works from his home Studio in Brisbane, South-East Queensland.
Feiler attended Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney, where he studied Fine Art from 2007 to 2009. He was also trained as a painter at the  Brisbane Arts Académie , where he worked on perfecting his oil painting skills. Mark now runs his own art school, Brisbane Art Classes, and teaches his students representational drawing, life drawing, traditional drawing in graphite, classical painting in oils, and digital fine art using Photoshop.
Mark is the recipient of people's choice award for The Kennedy Prize, a prestigious Australian art award for artworks that embody, comment on or celebrate beauty.  Mark is greatly inspired by nature, classical art and humans in their everyday lives. His work centers around human figures on flat and quiet backgrounds, with an emphasis on characters painted in a crisp way.

Brisbane Art Classes run by Mark Feiler are the best I’ve been too. I had been trying to attend the studio sessions for years and when I finally had the chance COVID hit. Thankfully Mark developed the virtual classes which have been amazing and just the creative escape I needed. Mark gives loads of individual feedback and direction that’s easy to understand. The format of the classes are really well planned to make the most of the time and what can be achieved. I can’t believe how quickly it goes, how much we get down and cover technically. I did a short course online that explored the principles of figure drawing. It went for five weeks and in that time I became more passionate about learning to draw.
