Join our 10 week Portraiture Course and develop your skills in creating realistic, lifelike portraits using traditional oil painting techniques. Before enrolling, please review the following requirements to ensure you're fully prepared for this hands-on, immersive class.

- 2 x 2B Staedtler Mars Lumograph
- 1 x Kneadable Eraser (Faber-Castell)
- Sketchbook for practice and concept development
Painting Materials (Oil Paint)
- Oil paints - a recommended palette including raw umber, ivory black, light red (by Art Spectrum), yellow ochre, titanium white
- Brushes
Neef Red Series 140 Hogs Hair (1 x size 8 or 10)
Neef 95 Filbert Stiff Synthetic (2 x Size 6)
Neef 95 Filber or Flat Stiff Synthetic (2 x Size 3)
Art Spectrum Series 1500-R Round (2 x Size 2)
(basic just get 1 of each - Canvas or canvas boards - recommend medium size eg Mont Marte Canvas Panel - 25.4 x 30.5cm (10 x 12in) or 30.5 x 40.6cm (12 x 16in)
- Palette for mixing oil paints (Mont Marte Oval Wooden Palette 38 x 30 x 4 (no white or paper palettes))
The traditional kidney shaped palette. For best results rub with linseed oil to provide a repellent surface. - Palette knives for mixing and texturing - recommend teardrop palette knife size 8
- Rags or paper towels for cleaning brushes - recommend small cotton rags (cut up t shirts) for use ON painting, paper towel for cleaning brushes
- Odourless solvent in a well sealed jar (please note that we do not accommodate solvent fumes)

- In-Studio Location: The course will be held at Chrome Street Studios in Salisbury, offering a professional, supportive environment to help you grow as an artist. You’ll be working alongside fellow students in a studio designed to foster creativity and focus.
- Dress in old clothes or an apron as oil painting can be messy.
